Our Founder: Peter Furness Peter is a mathematician and data scientist with a career spanning the public and private sectors. After a spell in academia he moved to operational research in the coal industry and this led to stints at Price Waterhouse, CACI and American Management Systems where he was head of the decision analytics practice for financial industries in Europe. In the late 90s he set up his own data science consultancy for clients who wished to leverage value from large customer and other corporate databases. Throughout his career, Peter has actively explored the benefits of new analytical methods in areas such as geospatial modelling, simulation, deep learning, and data visualisation. His work has spanned many sectors, including energy, government, health, financial services, retail, online publishing, logistics and cloud services. Peter is a member of the Census & Geodemographics Special Interest Group of the Market Research Society. He now provides data science support to academic research teams and charities on a pro bono basis.
